Greek Drama Video

While a good portion of the things discussed in the video had already been brought up, I was surprised to learn just how many people the Greek amphitheaters accommodated. Also, in light of another point brought up, namely the fact that the only surviving Ancient Greek comedies are those of Aristophanes, I’m beginning to think that the reason why Ancient Greek drama is so closely associated with tragedy is because so many more Greek tragedies have survived across the ages. On that note, I also find it fascinating that comedies and tragedies, particularly in Ancient Greece, were written with many of the same objectives in mind (reflecting human nature), yet did so from such radically different angles.
