Cherry Orchard Movie

I found the movie of The Cherry Orchard Movie to be entertaining. It was much less depressing than reading the play because the humor was more obvious in peoples' actions. I also, however thought that the ending was much sadder than when I read it because it was just so depressing to see Firs die (if that is what he did). I liked that the director created some under tones of attractions and relationships between the characters that I did not pick up on when reading it.  Madame R also seemed much more manipulative than I picked up on in the play. She was constantly trying to manipulate relationships and trying to make herself and her family look good in front of everyone. Madame R was like Mrs. Robinson with all of her flirting!! I really liked the props and especially the costumes. At first Anya seemed very bratty and demanding, but by the end I saw her as one of the strongest characters. Peter was much more annoying in the movie than in the play. He literally had no purpose, he was just always in the background trying to get involved and just being awkward and creepy.
